2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE

It was August 1, 2009 I plunged in and bought a new vehicle -- a 2009 KIA Sedona, When it was bought, we were informed by he dealership that at 5,000 miles of running, which they estimated would be in November of the year it was bought it would be brought in for it's first servicing. However, at the first anniversary date of purchase, the mileage was just over 2,000. Now on the 2nd anniversary date of purchase the mileage is at just under 4,200 and we will be taking it in for it's 2nd servicing. This vehicle runs like a new car, and we are so thankful that we can own such a vehicle.

NEW DOORS FOR THE HOUSE!

This past week seems like a whirlwind in that we bought 2 new doors for our house. After finding a Godly man gifed in home installations, together we went to our local Lowes and found a storm door for the front of the house. He encountered some problems with the previous installation of the main front door frame that required some alterations. He also made a new threshold because the other one that was made had a gap under it and cracked from the use of he wheel chair.

We also got French Doors to replace the sliding glass doors that were at the back of the house. These wee the original sliding glass doors that came with he house and the lock on these doors were so antiquated that we could not find a replacement. Now we have a standard lock and a dead-bolt lock on these new French Doors.

61 WONDERFUL YEARS!

May 24th, 61 tears ago, we were blessed with a union that only our God could give, and He has abundantly blessed our time together. When we stop and look back, and see how He has given us blessings upon blessings, with 4 wonderful sons who married 4 wonderful girls; 11 wonderful grandchildren and 7 precious great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way (twins) that are due in September, we marvel at His grace and love to us. However, we anxiously await our Savior's return, either by the way of the "Upper-taker" or by the way of the undertaker. Either way we will have new bodies. new minds (the Mind of Christ) and a New Home. We will take each day as a gift from our Heavenly Father.

ANOTHER PART FAMILY GET-TOGETHER!

It was suppose to have been a family surprise, but with our family a surprise is what you get to learn of it. However, Tim, Janie, Daniel, Christy and Christy's friend made a visit from southern Georgia for the Mother's Day week end, and our family planned a get together picnic to be held at Lake Robinson. It was a beautiful day; sunny with a slight breeze that kept the insects away, and most of us sat under the shade trees having fellowship. Alissa and Ben got to the park early and found a picnic table near some shade trees and we met near noon. Our family would have been complete if Pete and his family could have made it as well as Amy. However, we enjoyed seeing our family amd sharing in the good things that God has done for us.

PART OF A FAMILY GET-TOGETHER

Last Friday, we were blessed to have our son from Acworth, GA stop in and visit. He was in the area to visit a hospital in Spartanburg, SC, to see their record keeping in oncology. However, he and most of our family (Mark and Darlene, Ben and Alissa along with their 4 young 'uns, Jessica and Jeremy with their three girls, and finally Andy and Rosana with their three girls) met for a meal and fellowship at the Bible Baptist Church near Tigerville, SC. It was only our son Tim and wife,Janie along with their 3 who were missing, as they were at home in southern Georgia.

We also heard yesterday (Monday, April 25th) that our granddaughter, BethAnne and husband, Rence, received word that she was carrying twin boys that are due in September. We are happy and thrilled for them, and on their Facebook page she also announced the names that are planned for them upon their arrival on birth date.

God has been so good to our family, and we give Him all the praise for the way He is directing our lives.

HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!

What a wonderful season to contemplate that my Savior conquered death and came forth from the grave. I received a call from the cemetery where we have plots purchased, and I was asked what kind of vault we would like. My reply was that I was leaving this old house here and the simplest of vaults is all that would be necessary as I will have a new mansion to inhabit that my Savior has gone to prepare for me. This old "house" will no longer be needed. HALLELUJAH, WHAT A SAVIOR!
